History from '80s to now

1982 Start regular containerline service between the Upper-Rhine and the seaports of Rotterdam and Antwerp.

1986 Establishment of "Oberrhein Fahrgemeinschaft", the first foundation for cooperation on the Upper-Rhine.

1987 The "Laurent/Laurens", the first push-tow combination for containers to Basel, is launched
(351 TEU).

1988 The Customer Service department comes into being.
Danser Containerline develops from internal waterways company to intermodal service provider.

1991 "Oberrhein Fahrgemeinschaft" gets an official character in the ‘legal person’ Penta containerline AG.

1992 This year more than 50.000 TEU is transported.

1996 Start of the Stuttgarter Container Terminal. Danser Containerline offers a direct regular service.

1997 This year 96.000 TEU is transported.

1998 Penta Container Line introduces the fifth departure a week to the Upper-Rhine.

1999 Takeover Eurobarge of the Royal Nedlloyd Group. Danser Containerline has now become one of the main players on the Rotterdam-Antwerp route.

1999 The "Marla" is launched (220 TEU) as first of a series of 4 sister ships in total.

2000 Handling of one millionth TEU since its existence.
Danser Containerline starts a direct regular service to Mannheim.

2000 Direct regular service between the seaports of Rotterdam and Antwerp and the Trimodal Container Terminal in Willebroek, Belgium.

2000 The "Grindelwald" is launched (220 TEU).

2001 The "Nordwand" is launched (220 TEU).

2002 This year 800.000 TEU is transported.

2002 20-year jubilee of Danser Containerline.

2002 The "Marla" is converted into the push-tow combination "Marla Duo-Marla" (348 TEU).

2003 The "Grindelwald" is converted into the push-tow combination "Grindelwald-Mürren" (348 TEU).

2003 The "Nordwand" is converted into the push-tow combination "Eiger-Nordwand" (348 TEU).

2006 Acquisition Natural van Dam, now called Danser Switzerland. Due to this Danser becomes co-owner of BMT, Basel MultiTerminal AG, the biggest and most modern terminal in the port of Basel.

2007 25-year jubilee of Danser Containerline.

2007 The "Alsace-Hollande" is launched (348 TEU).

2007 Expansion of the Benelux-activities with a new regular service between Moerdijk and the seaports of Rotterdam and Antwerp.

2008 Danser Group and ECT sign the Memorandum of Understanding.
Together both companies will endeavour to improve the flow of internal waterways containers between the ECT-terminals in the seaport of Rotterdam and the hinterland even further.
